Double Chin Surgery
If you are bothered by your double chin, there are several ways to get rid of it. The plastic surgeon may recommend liposuction, neck plastic surgery, or a combination of the two. This is called a mini neck surgery by doctors, although it does not remove excess skin here, only the neck muscles are sutured tighter. This procedure can be done under local anesthesia and the recovery time is a week and a half.
Sometimes the doctor uses neck plastic surgery and liposuction together, in which case the surgery can be combined with facelift or chin augmentation. The doctor makes incisions behind the ear and under the chin, sews platinum, that is, the muscles of the neck, and removes excess skin. This surgery is performed under anesthesia, the recovery time is approx. two weeks.
The duration of the effect of neck plastic surgery depends on the technique of the surgery and the quality of the patient’s skin. After the treatment, a bandage and an elastic strap holding the animal are placed on the head. It’s worth asking someone to take us home by car and prepare comfortable, non-sneaky clothes. In the days after surgery, it is recommended to eat soft, fluid meals.
The risk of complications are minimal, but as with any surgery, infection, nerve damage, asymmetry, skin tenderness, or scarring can occur.
Aqualyx and Belkyra are deoxycholic acids that are often used to dissolve fat under the chin, so we can get rid of the double chin with minimally invasive treatment. The treatment should be repeated several times, 3-6 times a month – to achieve the desired effect. Once the substance is injected into the area of the case by the doctor, it swells, which can take days or even a week. This procedure is only recommended for those whose skin is tight and only want to remove fat from the under chin. Rare side effects include subcutaneous (under the skin) nodules, temporary damage to the facial nerves, temporary loss of facial expressions, and numbness.
