Fractional Laser Lifting

Our skin is a remarkable organ. Not only because it is the largest organ in the human body that can protect our bodies from the many harmful substances and dangers in the environment, but also because it is constantly renewing itself. However, this regenerative process gradually slows down with age, causing the skin to appear more and more often in the form of signs associated with this difficult task, age spots, sun damage, wrinkles and other age-related lesions. In order to reduce these manifestations of aging, it is necessary to accelerate the natural regeneration processes of the skin. Lasers can be an ideal solution as they are able to remove damaged layers from the skin evenly and accurately without violent chemical and mechanical processes.

Thus, the deeper, younger layers appear on the surface, which stimulates the skin’s natural healing processes, resulting in a smoother, firmer and more radiant appearance.

Candela CO2RE frakcionált lézer

Thanks to the state-of-the-art Candela CO2RE fractionated laser skin rejuvenation, the treated skin surface can be rejuvenated for years with virtually minimal healing time. Fractional laser skin rejuvenation without removing the skin on the treated surface results in a number of microscopic lesions extending to the deeper layers, which stimulate the proper healing processes and thus the rejuvenation of the skin.

Fractional laser skin rejuvenation is only a slight inconvenience and the healing time is short, but it is important to ensure adequate skin protection after treatment. Several treatments may be needed to achieve the right result.

Preparing for laser skin rejuvenation

As a first step, during the medical consultation your doctor will decide wheather you are suitable for laser treatment. Based on your previous and current medical condition and the result you want to achieve, we will determine which laser procedure is best for you. It is important to mention if you are prone to developing herpes around your mouth. Laser treatment can often provoke their appearance. If you decide to take treatment, it is recommended that you avoid taking medicines or food supplements that may affect blood clotting for 10 days before treatment. These include aspirin, ibuprofen or vitamin E. If you smoke, it is recommended that you stop for two weeks before and after treatment. This is because smoking prolongs the healing time.

What can we expect from the treatment?

Laser rejuvenation is an outpatient procedure. Scattered wrinkles around the eyes and mouth or on the forehead, as well as the entire face, can be treated. For small areas, the skin surface is numb with a local anesthetic. The procedure takes about 30-60 minutes. The total facial treatment takes about an hour.

The healing time usually takes 7 to 21 days depending on the treatment. The skin may swell after laser treatment, which is a natural reaction. Placing ice on the treated area for the first 24-48 hours after treatment can reduce swelling. 12-72 hours after the procedure, the skin surface may itch or a slight hip sensation may develop. After five to seven days, the skin may become dry and peeling.

Oily or oil-free makeup can be used to reduce redness during skin healing. Redness usually fades completely in two to three months.

The skin will become lighter after the treatment, which is why it is important to use high-factor sunscreens that filter out UVA and UVB rays, thus providing protection for the skin. When choosing a sunscreen, it is important to use one that has been developed to protect your face, contains zinc oxide and a sunscreen of a factor of 30 or higher.

It is also important to reduce the amount of time that the skin can reach the skin during the day, especially between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. It is recommended to wear a wide-brimmed hat that provides protection against the harmful rays of the sun.

Hydration of the skin is important. If you use a retinoid or glycolic acid product, you can use it again only six weeks after treatment or when your doctor tells you to.

Once the treated skin has healed, you can use makeup to cover the pink or red skin that has formed after the treatment. Green-based makeup is best for neutralizing redness. Redness usually disappears in two to three months, but it can last for up to six months until it disappears completely. Reddening of the skin can usually last longer in people with lighter skin.

Darker-skinned individuals may be more likely to develop darker pigmentation. Using whitening creams before and after treatment can reduce discoloration, as can using high-factor sunscreens or avoiding sunlight.

Possible complications after laser treatment

Although laser rejuvenation will not perfect the skin, it will also significantly improve its appearance. Possible complications include:

  • Burns or other scars due to laser radiation

  • Change in skin pigmentation, including lighter and darker skin surfaces

  • Herpes

  • Bacterial infection

  • Milia, which are small white bumps that may form on the treated skin after treatment
